Free Poll Maker

Polls are public to anyone with the link and are deleted automatically when they close. Voters do not need an account.

How to make a poll

  1. Type your question and at least two answers. Press + Add answer for more, up to 10.
  2. Choose your settings: multiple answers, hidden results, one vote per network, and how long the poll stays open.
  3. Press Create poll. You get two links: a share link for voters and a private manage link for you.
  4. Send the share link in a chat, an email, a slide or a social post. Results update live as votes come in.

Settings explained

  • Allow multiple answers turns the answers into checkboxes, so people can pick every option they like. Use it for "Which days work for you?" style questions.
  • Hide results until the poll closes stops early votes from swaying later voters. Voters see a thank-you message instead of the totals, and everyone sees the results once the poll ends.
  • One vote per network allows only one vote per internet connection, on top of one per browser. It is stricter, but it also blocks people who share Wi-Fi, so leave it off for classrooms, offices and events.
  • Close after sets how long voting stays open: 1, 7 or 30 days. When the time is up, the poll and its votes are deleted.

Good poll questions

Short, specific questions get the most votes. Ask one thing at a time, keep answers to a few words, and make sure they do not overlap. "When should we meet?" with answers "Monday 10am", "Tuesday 2pm" and "Thursday 4pm" works far better than an open question. If people might not like any answer, add an "Other" or "None of these" option so their vote still counts.

Ideas for quick polls

  • Teams: pick a meeting time, a lunch spot or the next feature to build.
  • Teachers: check understanding mid-lesson or let the class choose a topic.
  • Streamers and communities: let your audience decide what happens next, like a straw poll.
  • Friends and family: settle where to eat, what to watch or when to meet.
  • Events: collect quick feedback from the room at the end of a talk.

Need more than a poll?

A poll answers one question. When you need names, emails or longer answers, use a form. formvoxo turns any HTML form into a working survey or feedback form: submissions are emailed to you and stored in your dashboard, with spam filtering built in. See the docs to set one up in a few minutes.

Frequently asked questions

Do voters need an account? +

No. Anyone with the link can vote straight away. Neither you nor your voters need to sign up.

How do you stop people voting twice? +

Each poll allows one vote per browser. Turn on "One vote per network" for a stricter limit of one vote per internet connection, but leave it off when voters share Wi-Fi, as in a classroom or office. Like every no-login poll, it cannot stop a determined person using several devices, so do not use it for anything that needs verified votes.

Can voters pick more than one answer? +

Yes. Turn on "Allow multiple answers" when you create the poll and voters can tick as many options as they like.

How long does a poll stay open? +

You choose 1 day, 7 days or 30 days. When it expires, voting closes and the poll is deleted. You can also close it early from the manage link.

Who can see the results? +

Voters see the results after they vote, and you can see them any time from the manage link. Turn on "Hide results until the poll closes" if you do not want early votes to influence later ones.

Is there a limit on polls? +

You can create a few polls per hour, each with up to 10 answers. The limit keeps the tool free of spam.
